Mentha spicata var. crispa is in the mint family and is native to Europe but is now naturalised throughout the globe for its
medicinal and culinary uses. Moroccan Peppermint has bright green leaves and a strong mint flavour.
It is abundant in the compound carvone, which gives its distinctive smell. It also contains significant amounts of antioxidants,
in particular limonene. Research shows Moroccan Peppermint has antimicrobial and insecticidal properties.
It is found to have high activity against Gram (+) bacteria.
