Chamomilla recutita, commonly known as German chamomile, is a plant in the family of daisy-like flowers. 

German chamomile isthe most popular variety of chamomile and is widely cultivated in temperate regions across the world.

The essential oil and the herbal tea are known for their soothing properties. 

The flower contains many active compounds including terpene, bisabolol, chamazulene, apigenin, luteolin and coumarin. 

In herbal medicine, it was used to treat dyspepsia, insomnia and stress. Topically, it was used in the treatment of skin disorders, including eczema. 

Scientific research has discovered the plant’s anti-oxidation, anti-inflammation and anti-septic properties.
