Galium Odoratum, is a perennial white flowing plant that is widely distributed in Europe, North Africa and parts of Asia. It is commonly known as Sweet Scented Bedstraw and Wild Baby’s Breath, and as its name suggests, it has a strong scent, with its fragrance due to the aroma compound, coumarin.
It has been used in traditional herbal medicine to treat wounds on the skin and swelling when applied as an anti-inflammatory skin tonic.
Modern research has shown significant skin healing and free radical scavenging activity when treated by aqueous Sweet Woodruff extract.
